Announcing OPALMOX

Commander Galen “Vapor” Knight, Executive Officer of the VFX-33 Tarsiers walked through the doorway that lead into the hangar.

“Captain on deck!”

As those words bellowed out of the XO’s mouth everyone in the hangar snapped to attention.

The officers were in one formation on the left, enlisted personnel were in the middle and the plane captains were on the right. The entire formation would look like a giant C if you had been looking through the hallway windows in the hangar. The entire formation stood in front of an FX-80 Lightning that was in the hangar for repair.

Captain Yu walked briskly through the door and disappeared behind the FX-80. A few second latter she reappeared on top of the aircraft and walked over to the wings edge to overlook everyone. From her vantage point she could see clearly into the eyes of everyone in her command.

“At ease.” Those words came out of Captain Yu’s mouth with the authority they demanded.

“I am sure that there might have been a few rumors going on because of the recent activity and the recent addition of the Politia Special Guard.” at that moment she gestures toward the two men holding DT assault rifles in full combat dress who are guarding a door.

“The Special Guard arrived with that transport that recently arrived as you know. On board that transport was a number of people who were in charge of delivering the squadron an additional member.”

All eyes in the formation had locked onto Captain Yu’s every word after that sentence.

“As you might know, I hand pick the people that are to work with me. Each and everyone one of you has something that makes you stand out from other people. That certain something that called out to my attention and lead you to this squadron. It came as quite a surprise to me when the Intelligence Committee contacted me about a unique opportunity that involved added a member to the squadron.” Pausing for a few moments Captain Yu glanced up towards the windows that provide the view from the hallway.

“The unique opportunity that the IC is providing us with is a biodroid.”

At that moment the noise level in the hangar rose from the silence it was at as everyone whispered to the person next to them.

“QUIT!” Captain Yu shouted immediately regaining everyone’s attention.

“Like I was saying, the IC is sticking us with this biodroid because I accepted him into the squadron. Some of you that have recently come from Tosadae might have even seen him before. It’s name is OPALMOX and it has the blessing of IC and Instructor Caplan, I’m sure you pilots remember him. I’m even told Masta Poe gave her endorsement. I can say I am not thrilled with it being here but we will use it as the resourceful tool that the IC believes it to be.” Captain Yu pauses for a moment to let her words sink in.

“Although I can’t release all the details at this point just let me say that accepting OPALMOX into the squadron is our first step in the move to free Atlantia!” with that the squadron cheered with the thrill of finally being able to do something about Atlantia.

“That is all for now folks, carry about your duties and keep up the great work that you all do. I am proud to have each and every one of you working with me. I need all the section heads in my office in 15 for a meeting. Dismissed”

With that the formation dispersed and Captain Yu came down from the FX-80 Lightning to meet up with her XO.

“Nice speech Kagawa. You know that there are quite a few of them that are going to have the same reaction you did about him being here.”

“I know that Galen, and I am still having that same reaction towards him being here. I’m not blind to the good it can do but I just don’t trust something I can’t read and I’m still not sure what we are going to do with it.” She replied while looking out at the faces of her personnel.
