Interesting nightPosted on October 30, 2007 @ 05:30AM A rather interesting thing happened to me last night. I came back to my room to get some rest before heading out in the morning for my new duty station, but, due to my high anxiety I could note relax. Even tried some of the teachings that I received from Raksh Oasha but my spirits seemed to be too high so I decided to take a last walk around the facilities before heading off to a celebration with the rest of my training group. Deep in thought over the achievements I had gained and the obstacles I overcame through my time at the academy I wondered for quite awhile. Some of the previous comments by Raksh Oasha during my training hung on my mind as well. Then out of nowhere it seemed I bumped into a BioDroid who wasn’t your now commonly feared Black Guard BioDroid. He told me of his plight to find his lost Security Key that was assigned to him but he never received it. If possible I would have transferred my Security Key to him since I was leaving. However, since it was genetically coded it would have been useless to him We both apologized for our lack of focus in being caught up in our thoughts. I explained to him that I had just been assigned to a fighter squadron where I was to fly the FX-80 and was off to a celebration with fellow training mates. We both parted and started to walk our separate ways until I realized I never asked his name, he was far different then any other BioDroid I had meet before and there was something else I could place at that moment. I called back to him and asked his name, OPALMOX was the reply and a slight chuckle came out from me. A rather perplexing name I thought and then he said it stood for Organic, Programming, And Mechanical Operating eXchange, OPALMOX for short. I gave him my call sign, Opsidian, the name I had been used to hearing in the months of training and gave him one piece of advice that might help him in his quest. “Go back to the beginning and start anew. From there you should find that which you seek.” It was something that Raksh Oasha had told me many times in the beginning of my training and I thought it might just help OPALMOX out. As I walked off it hit me, I had seen this BioDroid before, or rather in the future, during one of my vision quests during a Visionistic Arts class. There was a reason U.G. had fashioned this encounter I am sure I will see OPALMOX again in the future. From there I headed off to the celebration with my training mates that lasted for a few hours. After the seemingly endless stories of our adventures we called it a night. Lex and I are heading out to our new squadron in the morning, the Tarsiers. She received her call sign from putting her wings on the wrong side of her uniform after dressing in front of the mirror, the instructor asked if she was dyslexic and well, Lex stuck. Going to be a bright and early start tomorrow, can’t wait to get on my J-1550 Sukio and cut into the darkness to head towards the light. Can’t wait to get behind the controls of my own FX-80 Lightning. |
