OpsidianPosted on October 29, 2007 @ 05:09AM Walking around the facilities, I was again searching for any glimpse of my Security Key, or even see if someone else may have dropped theirs. Despite my best efforts, I still did not have any luck. Since my arrival, I had started to get used to the halls being empty. The various attacks and the threat of attack, many people either stayed away, or moved swiftly from one place to the next, and not spending much time out in the open. While looking around, I was so focused on trying to find my Security Key Card, that I did not see the young man who was walking the opposite direction until we collided. Staggering back a step or two we appraised one another. He appeared to be very confident in who and what he was, but also seemed to be distracted and bothered by something. I asked his forgiveness for my lack of focus on where I was going, and felt compelled to explained that I was looking for my Security Key. He kindly accepted my apology, and I was surprised as he also apologized, and explained that he had just came from the Inner Chambers of the Visionistic Arts, and was on his way to a celebration prior to preparing to leave for his next assignment. I wished him a good time at the celebration, and luck on his next assignment, and continued on my way. I was pondering the fact that it was nice to see another face around the facility, but now, knowing that other people had been deeper in the Visionistic Arts Chambers than I had been, made me want to find my card all that much more. I thirsted to find out what was happening behind those sealed doors. As I started to walk off, the young man called after me, asking my name. I identified myself, and he chuckled at the odd sound of my name. He told me that his name was Opsidian, and he explained that he had been fortunate enough to be selected for one of the Fighter Squadrons. I again wished him luck, and prayed that his flights would be guarded and guided by the Light. Opsidian pondered that for a few moments, then offered me some advice, which almost sounded about as cryptic as something that I would probably hear from the instructors of Visionistic Arts. He said, “Go back to the beginning and start anew. From there you should find that which you seek.” I thanked him for his kind words and advice. His focus shifted as he considered something, then continued on down the passageway. I stood there moment longer as I watched him go around the corner, and then started to consider…how far back and which Beginning do I need to go to be able to achieve my goal. |
